Join Hark for the upcoming community clean up by becoming a "Pooper Trooper". We have targeted six high dog use areas in town and are planning to scoop them up during the community clean up. We'd love to have some help. If you would like to volunteer just bring a couple friends to:
HARK (1 Mile Small Tracts) 1 pm (till about 3pm) May 5th
From here we will break into groups and start scooping. If you would like to participate but can't make it on the 5th, just give us a call and we'll let you know what areas of town still need scooping. 766-3334. (If you have a shovel and bucket be sure to bring it.)
Thanks so much in advance. See you on Sat. May 5th. |

HARK offers Pet Microchipping

The Haines Animal Rescue Kennel is happy to announce our new pet microchip ID service. Microchipping is the only permanent method for pet identification and provides for the best chance of returning your pet after they have gone missing. It is a quick and painless procedure – similar to a vaccination. And best of all, it last a lifetime.
To celebrate this new service, HARK will be offering a microchip clinic on March 10th, 10am-1pm at the Senior Center. The cost of chipping is as follows: Microchips: $20; License: $15; Chip & license: $30. If your pet is already licensed, then chips are just $15. New and renewing HARK members* get 50% off micro-chipping!
*Memberships began at $15.

Vaccination
Some diseases are very serious and can be fatal to your pet (even when treated). To help prevent your pet from getting these diseases we recommend regular vaccination.
Vaccinations sold by HARK*: Dog - Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus Cat - Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia *Note: HARK does not administer the above vaccinations, we only sell the vaccine with syringe and needle. Also, HARK does not offer vaccinations for rabies. This vaccination must be performed by a veterinarian.
Worming
HARK supplies treatment for control of roundworms, hookworms and tape worms for you cat(s) and dog(s).
Fleas, Ticks & Lice
Contrary to popular belief Alaska does have fleas, ticks and lice (they just aren't that prevalent). These pesky parasites can make life miserable for pets and people. HARK can help you and your pet in two ways:
- Medicated pet wash for fleas, ticks and lice.
- Topical treatment (Frontline Plus) for fleas, ticks and lice.
